This sweet potato vine is so dark that it’s nearly black, hence the name. This vigorous and fast-growing cultivar is a popular variety which is known for its maple-like leaf shape. While the ornamental sweet potato plants don’t often flower, when Blackie does, it produces lavender or purple trumpet-like flowers.
